Education Department Inaugurates New Office For South Zone Counselling Cell At Mundgod

The newly built office block of South Zone Guidance and Counseling Cell
at Mundgod was inaugurated by Mr Palden Dhondup, the Settlement Officer
of Doeguling Tibetan Settlement, on 28 August. The ceremony was
attended by the school rector and headmaster, administrators of
different offices and hospitals, administrators and principals of
monastic schools, camp leaders and office staff.

The
new office with an area of 640 sq. ft. has been constructed in the
settlement office complex. It has counselor’s office and one medium
conference hall for group counseling cum reading room for visiting
students.

During
the inaugural ceremony, Mr Kalsang Dawa, rector of CST school Mundgod,
spoke on the importance of counseling in schools and urged the parents
to involve for better upbringing of their children. The settlement
officer thanked the department of education on behalf of all the
settlers for opening a branch counseling cell in the south where the
largest CTSA school is located. He further spoke on importance of
education and initiatives taken by the education department.

construction of office building was funded by SOIR-IM Sweden which also
funds overall activities of South Zone Guidance and Counseling Cell
since the inception of the office on 17 October 2005. Mr Jamyang
Wangyal is the South-Zone resident counselor and Ms Tsundue Sangmo is
the assistant counselor.

no.6 Mundgod, CST Gothangaon, CST Mainpat, colleges and universities of
southern Indian states.
