DHARAMSHALA: The Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration has announced a children’s story writing competition for Tibetan writing enthusiasts. (View original announcement in PDF)
Participants should be above 18 years old and living in India to be able to participate in the competition. The writers should understand that their target readers are Tibetan children between the ages of 4 to 7.
The six best entries will receive a cash prize of INR 10,000/ each and a certificate. They will also have an opportunity to get trained as children’s book writers and work on the ‘Soen-Tsa-Series’, a graded reading series initiated by the Department of Education (DoE).
Guidelines:
1. The stories should be original and the length should not exceed 15 lines.
2.While writing the stories, you should remember that your target readers are Tibetan children between ages 4 to 7.
3. You can submit the stories either in English or Tibetan.
4.The submission can be done either by post or via email in PDF format.
5.You should develop the story around any one of the following themes:

Foods
-
Birds and Animals
-
Musical instruments, games and toys
-
Relationships
-
Festivals
The last date of submission of entries is Friday, January 31 2014.
