Dharamshala: Kalon Gyari Dolma formally took charge of the Department of Security, Central Tibetan Administration, on 10 November after being sworn in as a Kalon of the 16th Kashag by Chief Justice Commissioner Sonam Norbu Dagpo.

The staff and officials of the Security department including its branch offices led by Secretary Karma Rinchen hosted a warm welcome reception for the new Kalon. Offering a ceremonial Tibetan scarf to a portrait of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Kalon Gyari Dolma entered the Kalon’s cabin following which she was greeted by the staff of the department with white ceremonial scarves. Secretary Karma Rinchen introduced the staff and their roles to the new Kalon during the welcome reception.
