Dharamshala:His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived in Dharamshala on Sunday afternoon, returning from Slovakia after receiving International Jan Lagos award and attending a conference on ‘Peace, Democracy and Human Rights in Asia’ in Czech Republic.His Holiness the Dalai Lama was received by the Speaker, Penpa Tsering, the Kalon Tripa, Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, the Kalon Dongchung Ngodup, and Dharmashala Tibetan Welfare Officer, the heads of the Tibetan NGOs and Tibetan schools over Dharamshala, students, nuns, monks and lay people.The students from Tibetan children’s village school, Gopalpur and the artistes from Thangtong Lugar Tibetan Performing Arts played music and bands, welcoming His Holiness the Dalai Lama.Many Tibetan in their best traditional wear welcomed His Holiness on the way, burning incense, holding Khata (white scarf), and praying for His Holiness the Dalai Lama.His Holiness the Dalai Lama will give a three-day general Buddhist teaching from tomorrow, 15 September to 17 September.More pictures :
