The deputy speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile will join a group
of noted writers, poets and social activists to honour the “literary
spirit of Tibetan women inside Tibet” at the Speaker Hall, Constitution
Club of India in New Delhi on 12 March.Deputy Speaker Dolma
Gyari has been invited as the special guest at the event organised by
the Tibetan Women’s Association to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of
the Tibetan women’s national uprising day.The event will
feature the launch of a book titled “A series of Torture: A Diary of
Interrogations” written by Jamyang Kyi, a noted Tibetan writer and
activist in Tibet.”Honourable Deputy Speaker will also deliver
the key note address for the discussion titled “Literary Spirit of
Women Under Oppression”. Ms. Swati Chopra, a New Delhi based, writer
and poet will chair the 90 minutes discussion,” Mr Tenzin Norbu,
spokesperson of the Tibetan Parliamentary Secretariat, told TibetNet.”Chithue
Kirti Dolker Lhamo, President of Tibetan Women’s Association, Smt. Jaya
Jaitly, Former President of Samta Party and Social Activist, Smt.
Nafisa Ali, Social Activist and Actor, Nilanjana S. Roy-Journalist and
literary Critic and Tenzin Tsundue-writer, poet and activist will also
speak on the occasion,” Mr Norbu said.
