Deputy Speaker attends the World Social Agenda in Italy

Dharamshala: Dolma Gyari, the deputy speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile, attended the World Social Agenda, a two-day international conference held annually in a different continent, held in Bolzano, Italy, on 25-26 November 2006.
The deputy speaker gave a keynote address on the women’s perspective for Asia; from informal economy to political participation and also participated in a round-table meeting on new democracies and human rights.
The conference was organised by the Presidency of the Autonomous Province of Bozen/Bolzano in collaboration with the non-profit organisation, Fondazione Fontana.
This was the third World Social Agenda.
The first one, held in 2004, was dedicated to the African continent and the second held in 2005 was to America.
The event also hosted different activities like workshops, films, concerts, a book fair and many other initiatives about Asian continent.
