Dharamshala: The Department of Health, Central Tibetan Administration, successfully concluded community-driven telemedicine awareness programs in five Tibetan settlements on 3 May 2024.
Aiming towards providing equitable and accessible access to health care, including access to specialists, the Department of Health conducted a series of telemedicine awareness programs from 29 April to 3 May, 2024. The awareness programs took place in Ravangla, Bhandara, Miao, Sonada, and Tenzingang. Health clinics in these settlements are already equipped with telemedicine services.
With the advancement of technology and innovative healthcare services, the Department of Health, with funding support from PRM, initiated telemedicine services in 2021. Tibetan settlements in Miao, Bhandara and Tezu were the first three clinics to receive these services. The services in Tezu were later relocated to Ravangla.
Health clinics in Tenzingang and Sonada Tashiling are the two most recent clinics to receive telemedicine services earlier this year.
