Department of Finance Holds Workshop for New Members of Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement

Dharamshala: The Department of Finance, Central Tibetan Administration, organised a workshop on 20 and 21 June 2024 at the Administrative Training & Welfare Society Centre for the new members of eleven Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement based in Himachal Pradesh. This workshop followed the assumption of responsibilities by the newly elected members, per the regulations of the Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement, stipulating that elected members shall commence on 1 June of the election year and that their tenure lasts three years.

A total of 22 participants, consisting of 3 female and 19 male members, attended the induction workshop.

Secretary Tsering Dhondup of the Department of Finance delivered the keynote address during the workshop’s inaugural on the first day.

Over the course of the two-day workshop, staff from the department’s Chartel Section introduced the regulations pertaining to the generation of CTA revenues, regulations of the Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement, preparations of Recurring Expenses Statement, preparations of Annual Budget Proposal, preparations of Audit Report and answers, among others. Likewise, the Data Section informed the participants about procedures for issuing new Green Books, correcting Green Books, and about reissuing of Green Books after it was lost.

This workshop is integral to the department’s effort to conduct workshops for all the new members of the Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement, which is divided into seven sections.
