Dharamshala: Tibetan Refugee Market Association in New Delhi refused the relief fund of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and thanked the Administration’s help to the Tibetans affected by fire in Ladakh Dharamshala/Buddha Vihara.
The fire, which broke out on 6 December morning at Ladakh Dharamshala in Delhi destroyed 6 Tibetan shops and affected 21 shops.
As an immediate relief, the CTA provided Rs. 10,000 each to the families of gutted shops and Rs. 3,000 each to the families affected by the fire.
The Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies (ATPD) also contributed Rs. 6,000 towards the relief fund.
The Tibetan shop owners at Ladakh Dharamshala thanked the CTA and the ATPD for their assistance and kind support.
In a letter signed by all the shop owners, they expressed their gratitude and also mentioned that since they are in no position to be of service to the Tibetan Administration they, in their best conscience, cannot accept the Administration’s relief assistance.
