
Dharamshala: Addressing the 112th Covid Briefing, the committee member Sonam Dolma updated the Covid status of Tibetan community in India and Nepal, reporting zero cases from 226 tests during the past seven days.
Sonam recounted vaccination records of Tibetan community, mentioning 50,252 fully vaccinated and 268 partly inoculated Tibetans above 18 in India. At the same time, she reported that 2,478 young Tibetans below 18 in India received both jabs while 129 were vaxxed with a single shot.
As of Nepal, 7,029 Tibetans above 18 and 109 below it received the duo vaccination. In addition, 5,875 elderly Tibetans and 594 frontliners got immune booster shots.
Following Sonam’s briefing on Health Department’s Water and Sanitation Project desk, Dr Tenzin Namdol from Delek Hospital urged everyone to keep following Covid’s precautionary measures, given the merits of wearing masks and employing sanitisers in preventing other similar transmissible diseases. She further underscored the magnitudes of maintaining good physical and mental health shape to strengthen one’s immune system.
Before concluding, Dr Namdol informed Tibetan residents above 18 of Dharamshala about the provision of booster shots from Delek Hospital if the individual meets a nine-month gap since the second shot condition.
