Delegation Briefs His Holiness

Dharamsala 12 October: The Tibetan delegation, which recently paid its third visit to China and some areas of Tibet after fresh talks between Beijing and Dharamsala was revived in September 2002 following a decade – long standoff, called on His Holiness the Dalai Lama. His Holiness returned to Dharamsala on Sunday after completing a successful tour to US and Latin America.
The delegation briefed His Holiness the Dalai Lama on their recent visit to China and areas of Tibet to revive ties and initiate dialogue with Beijing for negotiation on the issue of Tibet. The delegation also met with Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, the Kalon Tripa of the Central Tibetan Administration.
Mr. Lodi Gyari, the Special Envoy of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Mr. Kelsang Gyaltsen, His Holiness’ envoy to the EU, accompanied by two senior assistants, returned to Dharamsala on 1 October.
The delegation will meet the press tomorrow at the Department of Information and International Relations.
