
DHARAMSHALA: Supporting His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan cause with their presence in Dharamshala, two Nobel laureates said the decision to boycott Nobel summit in South Africa sends a strong message to china that they won’t bend under its pressure.
Nobel laureates Jody Williams said the real aim of the Nobel summit in South Africa was to celebrate the legacies of the Nelson Mandela. We are greatly saddened when South Africa denied visa to His Holiness to attend the summit. The summit was cancelled as the Nobel laureates will not attend it.
She said “the boycott of the Nobel summit was a message to the Chinese government and those countries who sell their soul and sovereignty.”
She said we will always stand with truth and justice, and never bow to Chinese pressure.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama said the denial of visa to him is an act of abuse of humble. I appreciate the support and solidarity shown by Jody Williams, Shirin Ebadi and other Nobel laureates, he said.
