DHARAMSHALA: Namgyal Dhondup, a staff of the Central Tibetan Administration’s Department of Health, attends “Asia Regional Conference” on “Access to Justice of Victims of Torture in Rehabilitation” in Manila, Philippines, from 22 -26 November.

Speaking at the conference, Namgyal Dhondup stated that the political prisoners in Tibet go through extreme brutalities and torture. He also outlined the help and assistance being given by the Central Tibetan Administration for former political prisoners who have escaped into exile by providing them with proper medical care, moral support and financial needs to rehabilitate them.A short video documentary about the emergency situation prevailing inside Tibet which have led 11 Tibetans to self-immolate was also shown at the conference. It was followed by a question and answer session about the emergency situation inside Tibet and the plight of the Tibetan political prisoners.The conference was organised by Medical Action Group (MAG) and International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT).Participants from more than 11 nations took part in the conference.
