Dharamshala: The annual meeting of the Representatives of Office Of Tibet (OoT) is underway at Lhakpa Tsering hall of the Department of Information and International Relations from 7-8 October 2019. The meeting is organised by the Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR), Central Tibetan Administration. All the representatives of the Offices of Tibet were present at the meeting.
The inaugural session of the meeting was presided over by the President of Central Tibetan Administration Dr. Lobsang Sangay and DIIR Secretaries Sonam Norbu Dagpo and Tsewang Gyalpo Arya. The welcome address of the meeting was delivered by Secretary Sonam Norbu Dagpo.
CTA President Dr. Lobsang Sangay in his opening remarks laid out the special focus of the meeting, which was, the Central Tibetan Administration’s Five-Fifty vision primarily focusing on the Shaping of Tibet’s Political Future, policy directives, reincarnation, Tibet Policy Act and planning for the “Thank you Dalai Lama” in 2020.
President Sangay proposed ideas and plans to be worked on by the Office of Tibet. He further spoke about the upcoming meeting of the Tibet Support Group and informed about meeting with representatives of different sects of Tibet Buddhist. He ushered the need to reach out to the regional Tibetan welfare associations in various parts of the world and planned for a meeting with all the representatives of the welfare associations respectively.
The meeting deliberated on various agendas of the Central Tibetan Administration including the deliberations of the Five-Fifty Forum as well as discussions and recommendations on administration and activities of the OoTs and follow-up action on the previous annual meeting of the representatives.
This is the fourth Office of Tibet (OOT) meeting of the 15th Kashag. The meeting is being held after the successful conclusion of the third Special General Meeting.
