Dehradun: CTA President Dr Lobsang Sangay’s arrival in Dehradun was warmly welcomed and received by Dehradun Tibetan Settlement Officer Norbu, Doegu Yougyal Ling (Lakhanwala) settlement officer Tsewang Phuntsok, Representatives from Lingtsang settlement, chairman of local Tibetan assembly Kunsang Dorjee and people of the settlement. Other representatives to welcome President Dr. Lobsang Sangay includes representatives of Northern Local Tibetan Assembly’s Commissioner Lhaduk, Drigung monastery, SOS Mussoorie school’s secretary Karma Chungdak, representatives of local Tibetan clinic under the care of health department.
President Dr Lobsang Sangay is on a 6-day official visit to various Tibetan settlements in Dehradun.
In the afternoon, President Sangay addressed the people of Lingtsang Tibetan settlement.
While addressing the gathering Dr. Lobsang Sangay spoke about his visit to His Holiness the Dalai Lama in the morning before leaving from Delhi and assured the people about His Holiness’s health condition. He said “His Holiness had an excellent recovery but will continue to take rest for some days in Delhi before he could travel back to Dharamshala”
President then talked about CTA’s upcoming second Five-Fifty vision. He notified them about the progress of Five-Fifty visions for settlement sustainability, Gangjong Development Finance Pvt. Ltd set up by CTA. He further informed the recent step taken by CTA to undertake a majority of Tibetan schools under the care of CTA.
“The 14th and 15th Kashag has regarded education as the most important aspect in its work, and in the last 8 years, there has definitely been development in the field of education. Particularly in the amount of scholarship provision, which has undoubtedly increased.
The program concluded with a question and answer session followed by a vote of thanks from the settlement chairman Kunsang Dorjee.
