Central Tibetan Administration mourns demise of Joint Secretary Mr
Tsewang Norbu, an efficient staff of the Department of Information and
International Relations (DIIR) on Saturday morning, 6 November 2010, in
Dharamsala. Dignitaries of the Central Tibetan Administration
and all the staff congregated at the Gangkyi staff hall for an
hour-long prayer service for the deceased. Thereafter, all the offices
remained closed as a mark of deep condolence and respect to Mr Norbu
from 4 p.m.Mr Tsewang Norbu began his service in CTA from 1996 in the Department of Health for more than two years. He
served in the translation section of the DIIR since his appointment in
the department from January 2000 as an under secretary. He was promoted
to the post of deputy secretary in 2003. In October 2010, Mr Norbu was
promoted to the post of joint secretary.Mr Tsewang Norbu was
born on 15 March 1973 in Bhutan. He passed his XII std from Upper TCV
school in 1992, and completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from
Chandigarh University. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
