The Kashag of the Central Tibetan Administration deeply mourns the passing away of Prince Jigdal Tsewang Namgyal, the youngest son of late king of Sikkim, Tashi Namgyal, on 30 October 2014. He was 86.
Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay, who is on a visit to Sikkim, went to offer condolences on the demise of Gyalsey Kushon Prince Jigdal Tsewang Namgyal (the first Development Commissioner of Sikkim) at his family residence at Tashi Gartsel, Sikkim.
“We are deeply saddened by the demise of Prince Jigdal Tsewang Namgyal of Sikkim. Our prayers and heartfelt condolences are with the members of his royal family. Tibet and Sikkim have shared strong historical religious and cultural ties since the time of the first king of Sikkim, Phunstog Namgyal, and the Fifth Dalai Lama of Tibet,” said Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay.
