Dharamshala: The Central Tibetan Administration organised a prayer service today to mourn the demise of Kasur Donga Tenzin. Kasur Donga Tenzin passed away on Friday, 7 June 2019 in Madison, Wisconsin.
During the prayer service Kalon of the Department of religion and culture, Ven Karma Gelek Yuthok expressed his deep condolences.
Tsegyal Chukya Dranyi, Secretary of the Kashag secretariat, narrated a brief biography of Kasur Donga Tenzin. Following the prayer service, all the offices of the Central Tibetan Administration were shut as a mark of respect and mourning.
The prayer service was attended by members of the Kashag, Tibetan parliamentarians, Commissioners of the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission along with staff and officials of the Central Tibetan Administration.
President Dr Lobsang Sangay expressed his deepest condolence to the family members and those who have known Kasur Donga Tenzin closely. President expressed his profound admiration for the priceless contribution of the former leaders of CTA such as Kasur Donga Tenzin.
Kasur Donga Tenzin, born in 1940, joined the Central Tibetan Administration as an assistant to Settlement Officer of Orissa Tibetan Settlement on 27 February 1962. Kasur Tenzin then served as Settlement Officer of Bir Nangchen, Acting Secretary of Department of Home, Secretary of Home Department and Secretary of the Kashag Secretariat. On 19 September 1991, he was appointed the Auditor General. On 5 June 1996, he was appointed the Kalon of Department of Security. From 1997, he assumed the role of Justice Commissioner of Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission.
