Paris, France: A gathering of young Tibetans from the Voluntary Tibet Advocacy Group (VTAG) and Students for a Free Tibet (SFT) in Paris was organised on 7 March 2026 from 14:00 to 20:00. The meeting aimed to provide a platform for young members to share their views and discuss future initiatives concerning the Tibetan cause. The session was held in the presence of Thupten Tsering, Coordinator of the Bureau du Tibet, Paris.
At the outset, Thupten Tsering explained the purpose of convening the meeting, noting that it had been some time since such an interaction with young Tibetans in Paris had taken place. He emphasised the importance of hearing the perspectives of young Tibetans and highlighted the significant role they play in strengthening advocacy for the Tibetan cause in France. In particular, he underscored the need to enhance advocacy efforts at the district and local levels, which currently remain limited.
During his remarks, Tsering encouraged the participants to develop an action plan for the coming year, outlining potential activities that young Tibetans can undertake to support and promote the Tibetan cause both in France and at the international level. He further advised the youth to remain proactive and prepared to participate in upcoming initiatives, including the Youth Forum and other gatherings of young Tibetans organised across Europe.
Following the discussion session, participants engaged in practical preparations for the upcoming commemoration of the 10 March Tibetan National Uprising Day. They worked collaboratively to prepare banners, flyers, and posters to support the planned activities and awareness efforts.
Overall, the interaction session was productive and meaningful. Although the number of participants was relatively small, those who attended demonstrated strong enthusiasm, commitment, and a deep sense of pride in their Tibetan identity. The participants actively contributed ideas and expressed their willingness to remain engaged in future advocacy and community initiatives.
