
BANGALORE: A five-day comprehensive workshop on conflict resolution is currently underway in Bangalore. The workshop is jointly organised by the Institute for Muti-Track Diplomacy, USA and the office of the Chief Representative, South Zone Tibetan settlements.
Mr Karma Singey, the chief representative for the southern Tibetan settlements opened the session and said, “conflict resolution is very relevant in today’s world and such workshops are very helpful in our day-to-day life especially for the people taking public responsibilities in our community”. He recalled his participation in the same workshop held last year and hoped that this year’s participants would gain as much knowledge and information in the field of conflict resolution.
He wished the course every success and hopes to conduct such workshops again next year in one of the Tibetan settlements in south India.
The main trainers of the workshop are Dr. Ellen Borris and Mary Calumaris, both from the Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy (IMTD).
The five-day training course includes, peace building, muti-track diplomacy, generating forgiveness and reconciliation.
Over 20 participants from Tibetan settlements of Bylakuppe, Mundgod, Hunsur and Kollegal as well as teachers from the Institute of Dalai Lama for Higher Education are attending the training. The participants come from different backgrounds like settlement officers, members of Local Tibetan Assembly, monks, CEO of Tibetan cooperative society, teachers, camp leaders and staff of offices.
