DHARAMSHALA: The 8th college orientation for 12th graduate students is currently underway in Dharamshala. The orientation is organised by the Department of Education( DOE) and is being held at the Gangkyi conference hall.

The day-long program is inaugurated by Additional Secretary Togyal Tsering, DOE, and will include interactive sessions with professionals from various lines of work.
The students are divided into groups based on their educational backgrounds and interests. Each group has a professional who will brief them about the relevant courses available in the colleges and the future prospects of a particular course.
Professionals include Dr Chok Monlam Peltsok, Mr Gyaltsen, Tenzin Lekshay, Tendar Tsering, Namgyal Lekshey among many others who will speak about topics ranging from ‘The relevance of studying Tibetan language in today’s world’ to Journalism, Computer Education, Law ,Psychology, Social Work to Tibetan Civil Services.
The program will also have a presentation on scholarship and college admission by chief counselor Ms Donkar Wangmo followed by talks by present and former college students who will share their college experience with the students.
Scholarship application forms and sample college admission forms are also distributed to the students at the program.
Around 130 students from various schools under the wing of Tibetan Children Village (TCV), Tibetan Homes Foundation (THF), Sambhota Tibetan Schools (STS) as well as Central School for Tibetans (CST) are participating in the orientation program.
