Miao, Arunachal Pradesh: On his 4-day tour to Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri. Pema Khandu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh today paid a visit to Choephelling Tibetan Settlement in Miao where he was accorded a grand traditional Tibetan welcome by Mr. Tenzin Chokden, Tibetan Settlement Officer (TSO). Shri. Samlung Mossang Hon’ble MLA, Shri. Sunny, K Singh (IAS) Additional Deputy Commissioner-Miao, Mr. Wangchen Dakpa-Chairman LTA and other representatives/staffs were also present to welcome the CM.
On his arrival, CM Khandu first paid a visit to Pema Choeling Settlement Monastery where he was received by Ven. Tulku Pema Choeying Rangdol, head of the monastery. After that, HCM inaugurated the new basketball court in the settlement which was funded by Dept. of Health (Central Tibetan Administration). HCM also visited carpet weaving centre & carpet showroom of Co-operative Society followed by visit to the Tibetan Primary Health Centre.
After completing the settlement tour, a small gathering was organised to honor the CM’s visit. Settlement Officer presented a short power point presentation giving brief introduction about the settlement and its livelihood, benefits received from the State Government while also highlighting the issues faced by the residents such as road & drainage, waste management and power supply (transformer in each camp). HCM graciously agreed to help resolve the issues and also promised of sanction budget to carpet centre building presented by Settlement’s Co-operative Society noting on the importance of tourist attraction centre and also to keeping alive the Tibetan tradition.
A medicine Buddha statue by presented to Hon’ble Chief Minister by the Settlement Officer and Chairman of Local Tibetan Assembly. Tibetan Co-operative Society & Pema Kopa Central Welfare Association also presented a memento to HCM followed by mementos to the other VIP guests by the camp leaders following which HCM left for Miao town.
