Dehradun: Kalon Karma Gelek Yuthok, Department of Religion and Culture attended the 7th Khenpo enthronement ceremony of Kagyu College of Janchubling Monastery in Dehradun on 11 February.
Drikung Kyabgon Chesang Rinpoche, the head of Drikung Kagyu lineage presided over the auspicious ceremony and presented Khenpo certificates to the graduate awardees.
Kalon Karma Gelek Yuthok felicitated the graduates with the ceremonial Tibetan scarf.
In his remarks, Kalon said the time is critical for the monastic community to make concrete efforts to preserve the teachings of Buddha and the cultural-religious heritage of Tibet.
He asked attention must be paid to enhance the level of scholarship and research in Tibetan Buddhist institutes and monasteries.
Kalon later received a private audience with Drikung Kyabgon Chesang Rinpoche. He also paid an inspection visit to an ongoing project site at Dekyiling Tibetan settlement.
