DHARAMSHALA: Mr. Fabian Hamilton, a member of the UK Parliament and Chair of All Party Parliamentary Group on Tibet, expressed outrage at the death of Tulku Tenzin Delek Rinpoche in a Chinese prison.
“The death of Tenzin Delek Rinpoche exposes the true nature of the Chinese government’s attitude towards Tibet,” said the UK Parliamentarian.
“China has disregarded the concerns of the international community over Tenzin Delek Rinpoche, flouted universally-accepted norms on legal processes during his case and refused medical parole despite his serious illness. Now China has his blood on its hands,” he declared.
Mr. Hamilton, a staunch Tibet supporter, has earlier raised the case of Tulku Tenzin Delek Rinpoche during a parliamentary debate on 18 June 2015. In 2010, he has written a letter to the Chinese Ambassador in UK calling on the Chinese government to urgently re-examine the case of Tenzin Delek Rinpoche.
Tulku Tenzin Delek Rinpoche died on Sunday, 12 July, while serving a life term in Chuandong prison in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. His sisters were notified of his death but they were not informed of the circumstances which led to his death.
