Dharamshala: The past century has seen enough violence and bloodshed, now peace is the new norm of this century. Therefore, children of this generation are the key figures who are capable of creating a better world one that is peaceful said His Holiness the Dalai Lama earlier this morning.
His Holiness was one of the key speakers invited to speak virtually at the Fair Share for Children Summit held today. Other prominent speakers include Stefan Lofven, Prime Minister of Sweden, Dr Tedros Adhanom, Director-General of WHO, and a number of Nobel Peace Laureates.
His Holiness expressed his concern over the social disparity between the rich and poor. He voiced that the gap between the rich and poor must be abolished by all means and added that it must be done by helping the poor and needy. Taking care of the world is essentially taking care of oneself and others, His Holiness noted.
“No amount of prayers can reduce poverty or improve the likes of the poor, we all must help each other and work in this together”.
His Holiness mentioned that children of this generation are the main protector of the world, a conveyor of peace.
“My advice or rather appeal to the children is to focus on reducing this social disparity” Whether one is a socialist or not, one must think for the greater good of humanity.
