Other esteemed guests at the foundation laying ceremony were Tibetan parliamentarian Khenpo Jamphel Tenzin, Chair of the local Tibetan assembly, Settlement Officer, representatives of the monasteries, Nyamdrel and NGOs.
Chief Representative Chophel Thupten also laid the foundation stone for Kollegal Dhondenling Multipurpose Community Hall. The ceremony was organiesd by Kollegal Dhondeling settlement office.
Settlement Officer Gelek Jungney thanked the principal sponsor for the project Kyabje Soepa Rinpoche and Tibetan associations and friends around the world who contributed as well.
Representative Chophel Thupten congratulated the Settlement Officer and the community on the landmark initiative, saying it is an important step towards revitalising the Tibetan settlements as per the Five-Fifty vision of CTA.
He also spoke about the appointment of new US Special Coordinator for Tibetan issues.
