
DELHI: The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT University), Bubneshwar on July 4, 2014. The MoU was signed between Hon’ble Sikyong cum Education Kalon Dr. Lobsang Sangay and the Founder of the University Dr. Achyuta Samanta at the Bureau of His Holiness Dalai Lama, New Delhi.
The Signing ceremony was witnessed by Representative Tempa Tsering and Education Secretary Ngodup Tsering representing CTA and Shri Vikas Kumar Sabata and Smt. Kumkum Sharma of KIIT University. The Joint Secretary of the Department of Education and Under Secretary of the Department of Health were also present at the ceremony.
The Memorandum of Understanding is intended to promote and develop Indo-Tibet relationship and to seek reserve seats for Students of Tibetan origin across the globe in various courses offered by the University.
Initial contact for the program was coordinated by Venerable Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche and Kalon Dolma Gyari, Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration in September 2012.
Every year the Department of Education receives three reserved seats for Tibetan Students in MBBS and seven seats in Engineering related courses from Center and State government.
