Central School for Tibetans Poanta marked its Silver Jubilee

Dharamshala:The Central School for Tibetans (CST), Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh, marked its Silver Jubilee celebration by organizing the 25th Sambhota inter-school athletic meet from 6-7 September.
The chief guest of the occasion, Mr Thupten Lungrik, Kalon for Education, Central Tibetan Administration, flagged off the athletic meet.

Speaking on the ocassion, Kalon Thubten Lungrig lauded the host School for successfully organizing the grand celebration and urged the students to put the best effort in studies and reminded them of vision of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in establishing separate Tibetan schools in exile.
Around 95 senior students in colorful traditional dress, representing all three provinces of Tibet, presented a welcome song to mark the opening ceremony, followed by yoga presentation by the middle level students and drum dance by 48 primary students.

Other dignitaries presented at the occasion included Mr. Karma Chungdak, director, Sambhota Tibetan Schools Administration (STSA), representatives, presidents and principals of the different Tibetan and non-Tibetan institutions and schools.
Four schools of middle level and above under the supervision of Sambhota Tibetan Schools Aministration, Education Department, including CST Chauntra, Sambhota Tibetan high school Bhuntar, Kullu, Sambhota Tibetan school, Dekyiling, Dehradun and Thumi Sambhota Tibetan school, Gangtok participated in different sports event.

CST Paonta Sahib topped the medal tally with 188 points in the athletic meet, followed by STS Bhuntar with 169 points, CST Chauntra with 133 points, STS Dekyiling with 52 points and STS Gangtok with 43 points.
The function ended with distribution of prizes to the winners and presentation of colorful cultural performance.
