Celebration of the 17th Birthday of the Panchen Lama in Russia

Moscow: In Moscow the 17th birthday of the 11th Panchen Lama Gedhun Choekyi Nyima was observed in two Buddhist centres. About 40 Buddhists gathered at the Moscow Buddhist Association Centre.
Representative Tashi gave a brief talk about the 11th Panchen Lama and the concerns of the Tibetan people about his whereabouts, welfare and the religious education. He thanked the people for their moral support and the sympathy.
A documentary film, Tibet’s Stolen Child, was shown to the public.
A prayer ceremony and Tsok offerings for the welfare of the missing Panchen Lama was held by Lama Tsongkhapa Buddhist Centre in Moscow.
In Kalmykia the Tibet Support Group organised a prayer session for the wellbeing of Panchen Rinpoche.
