New Delhi: Amid the pandemic, Tibet Support Groups in India are still actively organising activities and programs to strengthen the Tibetan movement. Bharat Tibbat Samvad Manch, one of the Tibet Support Groups as such held the inaugural program of its two-Day Central Core Group Meeting in Punjab on Saturday, 6th March 2021.
Dr. Sanjay Shukla, National Convener, Bharat Tibbat Samvad Manch in his inaugural address welcomed all the dignitaries and office bearers from different parts of India. He spoke on the importance of India and Tibet relations. He said that the culture of India and Tibet is so much similar and the air of spiritualism comes to India from Tibet. He demanded that the history and culture of Tibet should be included in the school curriculum of India. He warned the members of the danger of China to India if the dragon is not controlled.
Dr. Shukla appreciated the United States Government for the Tibet Support and Policy Act 2020 and demanded such a clear policy on Tibet from the Government of India. He stressed to carry the Tibetan Movement at a national and international forum. He stated that the issue of freedom of Tibet is directly related to the development and security of India and said that a memorandum will be given to the Governor of States through its 20 State Units in which it will be demanded to recognize Tibet as a Sovereign country and to confer Bharat Ratna on His Holiness the 14th Dalai lama.
India Tibet Coordination Office (ITCO) Deputy Coordinator Mr. Tenzin Jorden was the Special Guest during the program. In his address, he said that India and Tibet have shared a unique spiritual, cultural and historical relationship and lived in peace in harmony for many centuries. After the Chinese invasion and occupation of Tibet, whereby launching a full-scale attack to destroy Tibetan cultural and religious identity, India on the other hand had generously supported Tibetans and rebuilt a new home in exile, the country which is the source of knowledge and faith.
He further said that during the pandemic, the Tibet Support Groups have launched a strike hard campaign against China by boycotting Chinese products, protesting at Chinese Consulates and online campaigns to disclose the evil acts of Communist China. “I take this opportunity to express our gratitude and sincere thanks to India’s steadfast support and especially to the Samvad Manch Organisation for your commitment to the just cause of Tibet. Finally, I wish every success for your future strategies and deliberation shall be of immense use to Tibbat Mukti Sadhana” he concluded.
In his address as the Chief Guest, Dr. Chandra Trikha, Director of Haryana Sahitya Academy and Vice Chairman of Haryana Urdu Academy shared that it is very much important for Indian people to understand Tibet. He said before understanding the case of Tibet, it would be necessary to understand the history and culture of Tibet. He said that the land of Tibet is a land of mystery and spirituality. He said as more and more one develops the curiosity to know Tibet, one will know the depth of its significance to India.
Dr. Trikha further said that the cultural books of Tibet are being disregarded even in India. India has been giving shelter and supporting the Tibetan people for decades, but not recognising Tibet as a separate country. He said that the story of China’s tyranny and cheating policy is not new and the boycott of Chinese goods is a practical necessity whereas the purchase of Chinese goods means strengthening China and weakening India. He described Tibet as culturally and spiritually sound, and humbly requested all to study Tibet for the greater cause.
On the occasion, the forum felicitated the dignitaries and felicitated especially Tibetan peace marcher duo Tenzin Dhondup and Tenzin Nyima who had begun a peace march titled “March for Freedom” from Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh to Nathula in Sikkim covering a distance of 2000 km approx in 94 days seeking urgent attention to the deteriorating environmental situation in Tibet, the world must accept Tibet as an occupied country and boycotting products made in China.
The Inaugural Program of the Central Core Group Meeting was attended by dignitaries and Office Bearers from various States like Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and as well as from some other countries. The Central Core Group Meeting of Bharat Tibbat Samvad Manch will discuss and deliberate on to strengthen the Tibetan Movement.
