Dharamsala (Tibet.Net), 17 June 2003: Bharat Thibet Sahyog Manch has its agendas clearly noted down when its members would meet with the Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee on the eve of his trip to China. At a press conference yesterday, the national general secretary of the organisation, Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok announced its plan to meet the Prime Minister before his leaving for China on 22 June.
Acharya Yeshi said, “We want the honourable Prime Minister to raise the Tibetan issue during the coming trip.” He told the press that the organisation considers it important to let the Prime Minister know about their concern. “We know the Sino-Indian relations can never be smoothly carried out without addressing the border issue,” he remarked.
The members of the Bharat Thibet Sahyog Manch have received a tentative date of 19 June to meet with the Prime Minister. However, Acharya Yeshi said they will hold a dharna (peace procession) if their request to meet the Prime Minister is not confirmed.
The group will leave Dharamsala on the 18 June for New Delhi.
