Basel, Switzerland: On 25 April at 2:30 p.m., the Basel Tibetan Community commemorated the 37th birthday of the 11th Panchen Lama, Jetsun Tenzin Gedhun Yeshi Trinley Phuntsok Palzangpo (widely known as Gedhun Choekyi Nyima). Representative Thinlay Chukki from the Tibet Bureau in Geneva attended the event.
The commemoration was marked by a prayer session. The programme was presided over by Kyabje Sharpa Choeje Rinpoche, Jetsun Ngawang Jorden Palzangpo, and the Khenpo of the Tibet Institute Rikon.
The event was also attended by the Chinese Liaison Officer for European countries, Sangay Kyab, along with members of the local Tibetan community.
The ceremony was held at a Tibetan exhibition hall in Basel. Following the programme, the guests toured the exhibition hall.
