Taiwan: On 9 July the Office of Tibet, Taiwan in collaboration with a non-governmental organisation, organised an awareness-raising event on the Middle Way Approach for the Tibetan community and Taiwanese in Taiwan. The ceremony commenced with welcoming by the Secretary of the Office of Tibet, Taiwan to the President and members of the Global Tibetan People’s Movement for Middle Way Approach. She underscored the significance of the Middle Way policy adopted by the Central Tibetan Administration.
Geshe Lobsang Choephel, President of the Global Tibetan People’s Movement for the Middle Way Approach, provided a brief overview of the evolution of the Middle Way Approach. Following this, Secretary Tenzin Shenyen elaborated on the current situation in Tibet and the ongoing Sino-Tibetan conflict. Tsewang Gyaltsen, a member of the Global Tibetan People’s Movement for Middle Way Approach, offered insights into the present conditions in Tibet and followed by engaging in a question-and-answer session with the audience.
The Office of Tibet, Taiwan, presented the delegation with a Chinese edition of the book “Tibet Has Never Been A Part Of China,” published by Snow Land Press, along with ceremonial scarves. In reciprocation, the delegation presented a photo album expressing gratitude.
At the invitation of Taiwanese non-governmental organisations, the President and members of the Global Tibetan People’s Movement for Middle Way Approach conducted a Middle Way Awareness Campaign in Taipei, Taiwan, from 5 to 7 July 2024. The event attracted considerable in-person and online participation, drawing an audience of over 6,000 attendees.
