Assembly’s Sixth Session Ends, Kalon Tripa Leaves for US
Dharamsala, 22 September 2003: The Sixth session of the 13th Assembly of the Tibetan People’s Deputies on Friday met for its concluding session.
The Assembly passed several bills on various issues during the ten-day session. The details will be published in the report of the sixth session. The deputies will meet in March next year for the seventh session.
Meanwhile, the Kalon Tripa Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche and Kalon Thupten Lungrik, Kalon for Religion & Culture and Education, have left for the United States on Friday.
Invited by the Office of Tibet, New York, the Kalon Tripa and his colleague in the Kashag will attend the first ever conference of Tibetan Buddhist Dharma Centres of the Americas to be held later today.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who will wind up his US visit tomorrow, will also grace the occasion.
The Kalon Tripa and his colleague will also travel to Boston where they will speak to the students and staff of Wellesley College.
They will also travel to Los Angeles to be welcomed by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
They leave United States for India on September 29.
