Assembly of Tibetan People’ Deputies 10th Session Ended

Dharamshala: The 10th session of Assembly of Tibetan People’s Deputies ended on 23 September, last Friday. This is the second last session of the incumbent 13th assembly.
The last session will be held in March 2006.
Except 3 deputies from 46, all other deputies attended the session.
During the session, there came up 33 questions and answers, 3 calling
attention notes and 11 legislative activities out of which 7 were amended.
11 official resolutions (those motions which are sponsored either by Kashag
or by the standing committees), and 2 private member’s resolutions were
tabled in this session.
Assembly chairman Pema Jugney addressed the session at the end. “We the
exile Tibetan people have to form a cohesive group and we all should be
bound by it. The accomplishment of our ultimate goals are inextricably
linked to the strength of our internal integrity”, he said.
He emphasised the numerous typo errors contained in the documents of the
session. He urged the deputies to take notice of the spellings and wordings
of the documents as these documents will be filed and recorded for future
reference. “Some documents have many spelling mistakes and typo errors”, he
added.
At the end Chairman congratulated all the assembly members for the success
of these parliamentary proceedings. He closed the session by offering
prayers for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and prayed that may
all his wishes be fulfilled.
