All India Tibet Support Groups’ Conference to Begin on 28 June

Dharamshala: A two-day special
conference of All India Tibet Support Groups will be convened at
Agrasen Bhavan in Chandigarh from 28 to 29 June. India Tibet
Coordination Office based in New Delhi, will organise the conference.
The working groups of Tibet Support Group at the national and
regional level will discuss action plans on propagating awareness
programs on Tibet in various Indian schools and universities.
They will also deliberate on specific programs on seeking
support from Indian parliament members and political parties for the
Tibetan cause.
On the inaugural day, Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament
Gyari Dolma will give an overall briefing on the situation in Tibet and
the dialogue process between the Envoys of His Holiness the Dalai Lama
and the Chinese government. She will also speak on the expectations
from the Indian Tibet Support Groups.
Yashwant Sinha, a former finance minister of India, will be the chief guest on the inaugural ceremony.
A battery of prominent Indian friends of Tibet, including
Bashistha Narain, national convener of the All Party Parliamentarian
Forum for Tibet, Dr N K Trikha, national convener of Core Group for
Tibetan Cause, Dr Anand Kumar, India Tibet Friendship Society and Dr
Kuldip Agnihotri, Bharat Tibbat Sahyog Manch will attend the
conference.
Dignitaries of the Central Tibetan Administration, including
speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and Kalon Tripa Prof
Samdhong Rinpoche, will address the conference.
