
Leh, Ladakh: A public outreach camp under the “Mimang–Si–sJabstogs – Administration at Your Doorstep” initiative was organised on 11 December 2025 at the Sonamling Tibetan Settlement Office under the supervision of Nodal Officer Sh. Stanzin Rabgais, Executive Officer of Municipal Committee Leh. The objective of the camp was to bring essential government services and welfare schemes directly to the people in an accessible and efficient manner.
Officials from several departments—including PWD, PHE, Banks, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Power Development Department (PDD), Rural Development Department (RDD), PHED, ICDS, Labour and Handicrafts, Medical Department—participated in the programme. They provided on-the-spot information about various Central and UT-sponsored schemes. The departments briefed the public on farming support, livestock welfare, solar energy facilities, water supply status, nutritional programmes for women and children, welfare benefits, and ongoing road and construction development works.
Chief Representative Officer Tashi Dhondup formally introduced the programme, thanked the UT Administration for organising the event, and highlighted major issues faced by the Tibetans in Ladakh, such as land demarcation, allocation of a separate budget for Tibetan welfare, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), internal blacktop road, and solid waste management. He also submitted a memorandum on these concerns to the Nodal Officer, along with a copy of the MHA Guidelines the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy 2014.
Nodal Officer Rabgyes briefed the gathering on the government schemes and assured that all public issues raised during the camp would be forwarded to the Deputy Commissioner and the respective departments for necessary action.
The Centre for Financial Literacy (CFL), with support from SBI Choglamsar, conducted awareness sessions on the importance of KYC updates, unclaimed deposits, and various financial security schemes.
A large number of residents actively participated in the outreach programme, raising several local and developmental issues related to infrastructure, public utilities, and welfare services. The Nodal Officer assured that all genuine grievances and demands would be communicated to the concerned departments for timely redressal.
Finally, the CRO expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the participating departments, and especially to Sh.Sonam Norboo (ADDC Leh) and Sh.Stanzin Rabgais (Nodal Officer) for their support. The administration also arranged refreshments and lunch for all participants.
