A Tibetan student outshines in state-level painting competition

Dharamshala: A Tibetan student Tenzin Dawa shines out in the state-level painting competition held on 14 November in Shimla, capital of the north Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.
In all 74 schools participated in the competition.
Dawa is from Shimla Central School for Tibetans and he reads in class IV. His painting titled ‘When the sun is on switch off the light’ won the first prize of Rupees 10,000.
He will participate in the national level contest to be held on 12 December 2006 in New Delhi.
While the second and third prize of Rupees 8,000 and 5,000 went to Indian students from the local schools.
The painting competition was organised under the national awareness campaign on energy conservation.
