Dharamshala: Tibetans based in New York and New Jersey flocked to “An Afternoon with Kalon Tripa Samdhong Rinpoche” fixed on Sunday, 15 April, at the Dhaka Club in Woodside, New York.
The massive turnout despite a rainy weather is an indication of the deep bond of solidarity and support that continues to weld the exile Tibetan Administration with its people, Kalon Tripa Samdhong Rinpoche said.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama shall be happy about this overwhelming response, added Kalon Tripa, who is on a week-long visit to the North America.
The event organised by the Tibetan community in New York and New Jersey featured presentation of annual report by the president of the community, cultural performances and a question answer session with Kalon Tripa.
Accompanied by Kasur Tashi Wangdi, the representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to the Americas, Kalon Tripa also reiterated that further exposition on the policies of the incumbent Kashag was unnecessary, as he has already discussed them during his previous term as the Kalon Tripa.
He nonetheless underlined that the Administration has, in brief, two main objectives: to resolve the Tibet issue through dialogue based on the Middle-Way Approach of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and, until the day the Tibet issue is resolved, to ensure the sustenance of Tibetan religious and cultural heritage in exile.
