A Mumbai-Tibetan student wins award for non-fiction

Mr. Tenzin Tsundue, a final year postgraduate student from Mumbai, beat a dozen other shortlisted non-fiction writers from across the country to bag the top prize in the Outlook-Picador Non-Fiction Competition here today.
While Mr. Tsundue bagged the award for ‘My Kind of Exile’– an article on life in India as a Tibetan – Ms. Scharada Bail of Chennai was adjudged the first runner-up for her piece on toy- makers, ‘Bits and Pieces Artists’.
The third position went to Mr. Boria Mazumdar of Kolkata for an article on ‘Indian Cricket: Myths and Reality’.
The competition, according to the Editor of Picador, Ms. Mary Mount, attracted nearly 900 entries from across the country.
