A month long exhibition to commemorate Fifty Years in Exile in Taipei by the Religious Foundation of H. H. the Dalai Lama from 3 July to 30 July.

Dharamshala: A month long exhibition to commemorate fifty years in exile, organized by the Tibet Religious Foundation of H.H. the Dalai Lama in Taipei, which started on 3rd July, is closing on the 30th July 2009. On last Sunday, the 26th of July, a huge crowd of young and old people waited patiently for the start of the mandalala dispersion ceremony. The visitors to the exhibition had been able to watch the making of the sand mandala throughout the weekend by three monks from Gyutoe Monastery.   The monks created the mandala of compassion during the exhibition, which was formed by millions of bright, colorful grains of sand, carefully placed in a circular form.  Before the dismantling of the mandala on the morning of the 26th, Representative of H.H. the Dalai Lama Mr. Dawa Tsering extended his thanks to all the institutions, dharma centers, and individuals who had given their full support for making this exhibition a successful event. Sera Jey Khesur Rinpoche, Gyutoe Chung Tulku, Khenpo Tsenam, Tulku Thupten Norbu and 17 other Tibetan monks from different dharma centers in Taipei has attended the dismantling of mandala ceremony.   Many viewers carefully watched the dismantling of the mandala of compassion and hundreds of people waited in queue to collect the holy sand of dismantled mandala.   In the afternoon, Representative Mr. Dawa Tsering gave talk on the present status of Tibet to the fully packed auditorium. The audience listened to the talk carefully which then concluded with a question and answer session. Over 50,000 people have visited this grand exhibition since the 3rd of July, exceeding the capacity of the exhibition hall.   An officer of the Office of Tibet, Taiwan said, “We have full confidence that through this event many of our Taiwanese friends have learned more and deeper understating about Tibet and Tibetan Refugee in Exile”.
