Dharamshala: Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama (81) was interviewed by American pop singer Lady Gaga on the concluding day of his 19-day US tour.
The office for international relation and information of the Tibetan government-in-exile flashed this information on its news portals on Tuesday. The Nobel laureate has addressed the US Conference of Mayors in Indianapolis on ‘Compassion as a Pillar of World Peace’.
Lady Gaga has reportedly posed questions gathered by her from the social media for a book interview. After this, Gaga has reportedly been added to a list of foreigner banned by China’s Communist Party. The American pop singer, who has sold more than 27 million records, met the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader on Sunday. Gaga has also posted a 19-minute video of the interview on her Facebook account.
Dalai Lama was scheduled to arrive in New Delhi on Wednesday. From there, he would head for other tour programmes to Mungdod. Addressing the conference of mayors, Dalai Lama said, “It (US) is a country known for technological innovation. Your principles are freedom, democracy and liberty, and these qualities are related to warm-heartedness, respect for others and a concern for others’ well-being.”
