Finance Kalon speaks on the financial status of the Central Tibetan Administration

Dharamshala: Lobsang Nyandak Zayul, Kalon for Finance and Information and International Relations of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), spoke on the financial status and accountability of CTA to the Tibetan students attending Indian universities today at the week-long workshop on youth leadership.

He gave a broad outline of the CTA budget, its financial status and mentioned the reasons for the privatisation of sick business units owned by the CTA.
“The implementation of new economic policy (Privatisation) has proved very successful and CTA repaid most of its public debts”, he said.
Kalon also mentioned the Blue Book Project and various fund raising activities that were conducted in many places to enhance the corpus fund of CTA
Kalon gave an interesting visual presentation of past and present years’ budget, deficits and surplus of fund and sources and the use of the CTA’s fund.
He stressed the importance of positive attitude and perception of individual at the beginning of his presentation.
At the end, participants asked series of questions to kalon regarding the operation of finance department, privatisation of the sick units and plans and policies of the finance department in the coming years.
Kalon said that he was very much impressed by the interest of youths in financial plans and operations of the CTA.
