
Dharamshala: Sikyong Penpa Tsering will embark on an official visit to Ladakh after attending the opening ceremony of the 4th International Tibet Youth Forum. Over the course of two weeks, Sikyong will undertake a series of official engagements in the region, as well as en route to and from Ladakh.
Travelling by road via Kullu and Manali, Sikyong will reach Leh on 4 July and visit local monasteries the following day. On 6 July, he will attend the official celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 91st birthday and the closing of the Year of Compassion.
Thereafter, Sikyong will continue his official engagements in Leh and the Jangthang Tibetan nomadic settlements from 7 to 12 July. On his return journey, Sikyong will also visit Tibetan settlements in Kullu and Manali from 13 to 15 July, before reaching Dharamshala on 16 July.
