Dharamshala: 28 June 2026: On behalf of the Central Tibetan Administration and the Tibetan people worldwide, Sikyong Penpa Tsering has extended his heartfelt condolences and prayers to the people of Venezuela following the devastating 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes that struck the country on the evening of 24 June.
In his condolence message, Sikyong expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and conveyed solidarity with the people of Venezuela during this difficult time. He offered prayers for those who lost their lives, sustained injuries, were displaced, or endured other hardships as a result of the disaster.
“Our thoughts and prayers are especially with those who have lost their loved ones, sustained injuries, been displaced, or suffered other hardships as a result of this tragic disaster. We mourn with the families who are grieving and share in the pain of all those whose lives have been profoundly affected,” Sikyong stated.
Sikyong also expressed profound appreciation to the emergency responders, medical personnel, security forces, volunteers, and all those engaged in the search, rescue, and relief operations. He commended their courage, dedication, and selfless service in bringing hope and comfort to those affected despite the immense challenges.
Concluding his message, Sikyong, on behalf of the Tibetan people, offered sincere prayers for the swift recovery and healing of all those affected. He wished the people of Venezuela strength, courage, and resilience as they rebuild their lives and communities in the aftermath of the disaster.
