
Dharamshala: The newly elected Kalons (Ministers) of the Central Tibetan Administration commenced their first working day after formally assuming their respective responsibilities yesterday, on 4 June 2026. Upon their arrival at their offices, they were warmly received by the staff members of their respective departments.
In keeping with Tibetan tradition, departmental staff accorded the Kalons a traditional welcome reception, offering ceremonial scarves and extending their best wishes for a successful tenure.
Following the welcome reception, the Kalons met with senior officials and staff members of their departments, where they were briefed on ongoing programmes, key priorities, and administrative matters. The meetings provided an opportunity for the new Kalons to familiarise themselves with departmental functions and engage with staff responsible for implementing various initiatives.
The Kalons expressed gratitude for the warm reception and acknowledged the dedication of departmental staff in serving the Tibetan community. They reiterated their commitment to carrying out their responsibilities with diligence, transparency, and a spirit of service, while working collaboratively to advance the policies and objectives of the Central Tibetan Administration.
