Puruwala, 20 May 2026: On the auspicious occasion of the White Wednesday during the holy month of Saka Dawa, the Puruwala Sakya Tibetan Settlement’s Ghoton Committee organised a compassionate service activity was at Hanuman Chowk near the Tibetan Market.

As part of the observance of the Year of Compassion, Sharbad (juice) was distributed to approximately 1,900 people from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, offering relief from the intense summer heat while promoting the values of kindness, generosity, and community service.

The programme was successfully conducted with active participation and support from the local community, serving as a meaningful expression of compassion in action in accordance with the teachings of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

The event was organised in collaboration with the Puruwala Regional Tibetan Youth Congress and the Regional Tibetan Women’s Association.
