
Dharamshala: The 9th month-long winter immersive workshop on Tibetan culture and religion for Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) school was commenced with a brief inaugural on 5 January 2026.
Organised by the Gyudmed Tantric Monastery, the training is scheduled to run from 5 January to 4 February, coinciding with the TCV’s winter break.
Venerable Jetsun Thubten Rabgye, the chant master of the monastery, graced the opening ceremony as its chief guest.
The gathering commenced with a ceremonial offerings of white scarves and prayers, followed by an opening remarks from Ngagrampa Yonten Norbu, who introduced the programmes of the workshop. Similarly, the gathering were also addressed by Principal of Gyudmed Snowland School, Geshe Ngagrampa Sonam Ngodup, who shared the objectives behind this initiative.
In his keynote speech, the chief guest enlightened the participating students with his profound religious knowledge before a vote of thanks from the secretary Ugyen.
During this month-long training programme, students in grades 8–10 will study Yönten Zhigyurma (The Foundation of All Qualities by Je Tsongkhapa); dialectical disputation; and Tibetan literature. Likewise, students in grades 5–7 will study basic principles of Tibetan Buddhism, simpler version of dialectical disputation, and basics of Tibetan literature.
