Bylakuppe: At the request of the Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV) School in Bylakuppe, the Local Tibetan Justice Commissioner of the Southern Region conducted a legal awareness programme for 34 students of grade VIII in the afternoon on 28 November 2025.
The visiting students were accompanied by their Social Science teacher, Tenzin Dolma.
Phuntsok Palden, the Local Tibetan Justice Commissioner of the Southern Region, introduced the students to the judicial bodies of the Tibetan Justice Commission in exile, the legal codes and terms used by the Tibetan Justice Commission, and the procedural framework of the Commission.
Following that, Dawa Choedon, Secretary of the Local Tibetan Justice Commission, provided information about the requirements for studying law in India after completing the twelfth grade — specifically the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and Master of Laws (LL.M.) programmes. She also explained the career opportunities available in India after completing legal studies, as well as the possibilities of joining the Central Tibetan Administration’s civil service as a Local Justice Commissioner, Secretary, or as an officer of the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission.
The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session.
