
Bir: Chief Election Commissioner Lobsang Yeshi, continuing his official tour to Tibetan settlements in northern India, departed Dharamshala for Tashi Jong on Tuesday, 11 November 2025. At 10:30 a.m., he briefed approximately 30 community members at Tashi Jong on the upcoming 2025-26 elections for the Sikyong (President) and the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPiE) elections. During the session, he introduced the election rules, regulations, and fundamental guidelines and addressed questions raised by the community.
Around 1 p.m., the Chief Election Commissioner departed Tashi Jong for the Bir Dege Settlement. At 2 p.m., he met with 25 community members of Bir Dege, providing an overview of the election rules, regulations and key guidelines for the 2025–26 Sikyong and 18th TPiE elections. He also responded to queries from the attendees.
On 12 November 2025, at 10:00 a.m., the Chief Election Commissioner Lobsang Yeshi addressed 90 local community members at the Bir Tibetan Society (Bir Botsok), introducing the election regulations and fundamental guidelines for the upcoming elections and clarifying questions from the public.
At 2:00 p.m., he proceeded to the Bir Chauntra Nangchen Settlement, where he briefed 25 local community members on the election rules, regulations and essential guidelines, while also responding to their questions.
The Chief Election Commissioner then departed Bir Chauntra Nangchen at 4:00 p.m. and arrived back in Dharamshala at 6:30 p.m., marking the successful completion of his official electoral outreach programme in the Bir region.
